What is Subtitles and Closed Captions?
On-screen text of a video’s dialogue; closed captions also describe relevant sounds and can be turned on or off.
Many social videos are watched with the sound off, so captions keep viewers engaged. Captions are also an accessibility requirement for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers.
Captions can be burned into the picture or supplied as separate files such as SRT or VTT, which platforms can index and translate.
