What is Frame Rate?
The number of individual images (frames) shown per second of video, written as fps.
Cinema traditionally uses 24 fps, broadcast in many regions uses 25 or 30 fps, and 50 or 60 fps gives smoother motion for sport and gaming. Shooting at higher frame rates allows smooth slow motion when played back at a standard rate.
Mixing frame rates in one project can cause stutter, so editors usually conform footage to a single project frame rate before cutting.
