Moving objects are the hardest things to remove from video. A person walking through frame. A car driving past. A drone flying by. Our tracking technology locks onto the target with sub-pixel accuracy -- following it through rotation, scale changes, and occlusion -- then erases it completely while rebuilding what's behind it, frame by frame.

What Is Object Tracking & Removal?
It's the combination of two disciplines: first, we use AI-powered tracking to follow a moving object across every frame of your video -- through changes in position, rotation, scale, lighting, and even partial occlusion. Then, we use that precise tracking data to mask and remove the object seamlessly.
This is fundamentally harder than removing a static object because everything moves. The mask must follow the object perfectly -- too slow and it leaves artifacts; too fast and it eats into surrounding elements. And the background fill must be temporally consistent across hundreds of frames.
We combine planar tracking, point tracking, and deep learning segmentation with expert manual refinement to deliver results that automated tools alone can't match.

Tracking Methods
Three Tracking Approaches, One Goal
Different objects need different tracking strategies. We choose the right approach -- or combine them -- based on what your footage demands.
Planar Tracking
Tracks flat surfaces like signs, screens, clothing, and building faces. Handles perspective changes, rotation, and scaling as the camera moves relative to the surface.
Logos on walls & clothing
Signs & billboards
Screen replacements
Point Tracking
Tracks individual feature points on irregular objects. Multiple points create a motion model that handles complex 3D movement, deformation, and rotation.
People walking through frame
Vehicles in motion
Equipment & gear
AI Segmentation
Deep learning models that understand object semantics -- they know what a "person" or "car" is and can track them even when partially hidden, blurred, or changing shape.
Deformable objects
Partial occlusion
Crowded scenes
Our Process
How We Track and Remove
Tracking is the foundation. Without a perfect track, the removal will drift, flicker, or leave artifacts. Here's how we ensure both are flawless.
01
Object Identification
We analyze your footage, identify the target object, and select the optimal tracking method. Complex scenes may combine multiple approaches.
02
Track & Lock
AI tracks the object across every frame with sub-pixel precision. Our artists verify and refine the track at critical moments -- occlusion, fast motion, or lighting changes.
03
Mask, Remove & Fill
Using the tracking data, we create a precise animated mask, erase the object, and fill the gap using temporal data from neighboring frames, AI inpainting, and manual painting.
04
QA & Deliver
Every frame is reviewed at full resolution for tracking drift, fill artifacts, and edge issues. We match grain, noise, and motion blur before delivering in your original format.
Use Cases
What We Track and Remove
If it moves through your footage and shouldn't be there, we can lock onto it and erase it.
People & Passersby
Pedestrians walking through your shot, photobombers, extras that shouldn't be there.
Vehicles
Cars, bikes, trucks, drones passing through frame. Tracked and erased from every angle.
Moving Logos
Brand logos on clothing, moving vehicles, or swinging signs. Tracked through fabric folds and perspective.
Equipment
Boom mics, light stands, cables, reflectors -- production gear that drifts into frame.
Wires & Rigs
Stunt wires, safety cables, tracking markers -- all moving with the performer.
Animals
Birds flying through, dogs running across frame, insects near the lens.
Moving Text
Scrolling tickers, crawling lower thirds, or burned-in text that moves with the camera.
Airborne Objects
Drones, helicopters, planes, balloons -- anything crossing your sky that doesn't belong.
Why Us
Tracking Is Where Most Services Fail
Cheap object removal services skip proper tracking. They use frame-by-frame manual masking -- which is slow, inconsistent, and creates visible flicker. We invest in precise tracking first because it makes everything downstream faster and better.
Sub-Pixel Lock-On
Our tracking doesn't drift. We verify every track point manually and correct any frame where AI accuracy drops below threshold.
Occlusion Intelligence
When objects pass behind other elements, we maintain the track and manage layering so foreground stays untouched.
Temporal Consistency
The fill-in background stays consistent across thousands of frames. No frame-to-frame flicker that gives away the edit.
Nuke + Mocha Pro Pipeline

The Hard Part
Why Most Tracking Attempts Fail
Automated tools promise one-click tracking. In reality, real footage throws curve balls that only experienced artists can handle.
Object Goes Behind Something
When the target disappears behind another element, automated trackers lose the lock. We maintain continuity and re-acquire the track when it reappears.
Sudden Speed Changes
A person stops, turns, then walks fast. Abrupt motion changes cause tracking drift. We verify at every transition and manually correct any slip.
Lighting Changes Mid-Shot
Clouds, flickering lights, or entering/leaving shade changes the object's appearance dramatically. Trackers that rely on color lose their target.
Similar-Looking Objects Nearby
In a crowd, tracker can jump to a different person. We use semantic understanding to keep the lock on the specific target, not just similar shapes.
Object Rotates or Deforms
A flag waving, a person turning around, fabric folding -- the object's shape keeps changing. Simple trackers fail; ours adapts to deformation in real-time.
Camera + Object Both Moving
Handheld dolly with a moving target means everything shifts every frame. We separate camera motion from object motion for a clean, stable track.
Industries
Who Needs Tracking-Based Removal?
Film & Television
Wire removal on stunt sequences, tracking markers on actors' faces, crew reflections in moving glass, boom mics dipping into frame during dolly moves.
Advertising
Competitor logos on moving vehicles, passersby in street footage holding branded items, unwanted product placement that wasn't cleared for the ad.
Real Estate & Drone
Other drones in aerial footage, construction equipment moving through property shots, vehicles driving past during exterior tours.
Sports & Esports
Track and remove sponsor logos from replay footage, erase unwanted spectators from sideline shots, clean up broadcast overlays from archival footage.
Legal & Surveillance
Track and redact faces or license plates of people moving through surveillance footage for privacy compliance. Consistent blur across every frame.
Content Creators
Remove accidental brand appearances from vlogs, erase people who walk through your outdoor shoots, clean up drone footage of locations you're featuring.

Common Questions
What if the object passes behind something else?
We handle occlusion seamlessly. When an object goes behind another element, we maintain the track, manage the layering, and only remove the visible portions while preserving foreground elements completely.
Can you track objects on handheld or shaky footage?
Yes. Our tracking handles camera shake, handheld motion, and dolly moves. We stabilize the track data to separate camera movement from object movement, giving us a clean track regardless of how the camera was operated.
What about fast-moving objects or motion blur?
Fast objects create motion blur which makes edges fuzzy. We track the object's motion vector and account for the blur in our mask -- creating feathered edges that match the original blur characteristics so the removal looks natural at any speed.
Do you handle shadows cast by the removed object?
Yes. We track and remove the object's shadow as a unit. The shadow also needs to be tracked and erased, or it becomes a floating shadow with no source -- an immediate giveaway that something was removed.
What formats and resolutions do you support?
All standard formats: ProRes, DNxHR, H.264, H.265, EXR sequences. HD through 8K with HDR support. Delivery in your original format and codec by default.
How long does it take?
Simple tracking on a short clip: same day. Complex multi-object tracking on a 5-minute scene: 3-4 days. We always confirm precise timelines before starting. Rush delivery is available.
Can I get a free test before committing?
Yes! Send us a short clip and we'll do a free tracking test so you can see our precision before committing. No obligation.
Is my footage confidential?
100%. NDAs signed for every project. Encrypted transfers, secure storage, permanent deletion after delivery. We regularly handle pre-release films and sensitive footage.
Can you track and remove multiple objects in the same shot?
Yes! We can track multiple objects simultaneously in the same shot. Each gets its own independent track and mask. If objects cross paths, we manage the layering so neither removal interferes with the other.
What if the object enters and exits the frame multiple times?
We handle re-entries seamlessly. When an object leaves frame, we stop the track. When it re-enters, we pick it up again with a new track segment and ensure the removal is consistent across all appearances.
Do you also track for compositing, or only for removal?
Both! We can export tracking data (Nuke, After Effects, Mocha) if you need it for your own compositing pipeline. We also do full track-and-replace -- removing an object and placing something new in its position using the same tracking data.
